Cry or Conquer: The Choice Is Yours

A couple of weeks ago, I learned a very valuable lesson: I have a choice to either conquer obstacles and adversity that I come across or cry about it. Now, I knew this already, but sometimes when I'm in the middle of an experience, I forget what I already know, and need to be reminded. Your Grade School Teacher May Have Been on to Something

Unless I'm super old and telling my age right now, you remember when your teacher used to make ill-behaving students go to the board (or pull out a sheet of paper) and write one sentence one hundred times. S/he probably meant it to be a punishment, but the psychological effects of this activity were bordering on positive. I am a huge advocate for writing things down. This is why I journal daily. Surrender to Serenity: Achieve Peace with Writing + Giveaway

Life happens quickly, and it's almost too easy to get so caught up in what's happening physically that we forget to attend to the spiritual part of ourselves. We let the outside world get to the inside of us, and some don't even know that this is taking place or what to do about it. To release worry, anger, frustration, doubt, and a plethora of other negative states of mind, and to achieve peace, you have to surrender to serenity. One way to surrender to serenity is to write. Write it all down. Get it all out. This will make room for the good stuff to flow into your life. (more…)
