Don’t Force It

Don’t Force It

Everybody is on their hustle, trying to make some thing happen, but there is one problem with this. Forcing results is not the right way to go about handling your business. I know you’ve probably heard the saying “grass doesn’t try to grow, it just does.” That’s what it was created to do, right? We were all born for greater purpose, and we were all meant to be great.

There is no reason to force anything. If you have educated yourself, and put a plan together, all you have left to do is execute. Sounds simple, huh? I’m not saying that there isn’t a lot of work involved in whatever your project may be. I am saying, though, that you can just work your plan, instead of worrying and stressing at the same time.

Don’t Force It

If you find that something isn’t to your liking, or that something should be tweaked a bit, you can go back and make changes. When you are committed to your business, and you plan to be in this for the long haul, you shouldn’t feel the need to force anything. I know that we all want to start a business and become millionaires within the first few months, but patience is key here. Think about how it feels when things are flowing well, and then compare it to the feeling you get whenever things are slow and choppy.

Don’t force it. Be patient and work your plan. It works, I promise! One thing that gives me crazy inspiration and motivation to keep pushing is taking a periodic look back at my career so far. It’s so cool to see how far I’ve come in such a short time. That makes me want to continue on my path. With that kind of motivation and attitude, success is inevitable.

Have you been trying to force things to happen with your endeavors?

How I Lost 40 Pounds

How I Lost 40 Pounds

Recently, I posted a photo showing my weight loss over the last year, and in a matter of hours, I had hundreds of likes and comments, and several messages in my inbox from women asking me how I lost 40 pounds. I mean, they were really looking for my “secret” in getting results.

Honestly, I was both flattered and frustrated. Most people don’t realize the things that they do on a regular are the things that cause them to get “unwanted” results time and time again. At the risk of being perceived as a joke, I also posted a status that read “When you get tired of something, and I mean truly tired, you WILL do something about it. Until then, one can only assume that you love your situation.”

How I Lost 40 Pounds

I meant that in love, regardless of how it is taken. The short answer to the question, “How did you lose 40 lbs?” is simple…I made a decision to lose the weight. I decided what I wanted, and I started moving toward that goal. The long answer is this. I had tried the diets and failed. I restricted calories. I bought all healthy foods, and ordered pizza after a couple of days. The point is, I knew what didn’t work for me.

I had lost weight before, but I hadn’t changed my lifestyle. So, that was the goal this time. It took me about a year to lose the weight, because I refused to workout. I wanted to get the food part down, first. I had heard and read in several places that diet is 80% of weight loss, and that exercise was only 20%. I  removed several things from my diet, and reintroduced them one by one, after a few weeks. I learned that my body didn’t like cow’s milk, bananas, and bread. I cut out fast foods, and started cooking at home more. I started using coconut oil for everything, and within a couple of months, I saw the scale change for the first time.

I kept up with my eating habits, because I had made changes that I enjoyed and could sustain long term. Seeing the numbers go down on the scale gave me added motivation to keep it up too! I exercised a few times, but it’s not my thing, at least not right now. Lately, though, I’ve been tricked into working out, because my husband bought me a bike, as an early anniversary gift, and I’ve been riding every day.

If you are trying to lose weight, I encourage you to stop trying, make a decision, and just lose the weight. When you want something bad enough, you will make a way to get it. I’ve done that in so many other areas of my life, and I finally applied it to my body too. Change your mind and it will change your life!

Before You Call It Quits On Your Marriage

Before You Call It Quits On Your Marriage

I know that I have said this before, but I feel it’s important enough to say again that when you enter into a marriage, you are promising to love the other person through the things that you already know and through the things that you don’t know. At some point, there will be things that you will learn about your spouse that you may have a hard time dealing with, but remember the promise that you made.  Read more

#AskAndriea: I’m Stuck In A Negative Cycle!

Hi Andriea,

Okay so I am having trouble getting out of this negative cycle I’m in. It seems like nothing I do make a difference in my life. I try to say that I want something good, but only bad comes my way. Every guy I’ve dated has done me dirty. My job is okay but it doesn’t pay me enough money. I’m tired of seeing other people do better than me when I want the same things they have. I watched The Secret and I did what it said and I’m still getting the same results. I’m only asking you, because I read your stories about how you used to be in crazy situations, but you got to a point where you don’t do that stuff no more. I mean, you got what you want in life, so I need help to get what I want for my life. Can you help me please? Read more
