The way we can measure our spiritual growth is by taking inventory of the fruit of the Spirit that we honestly possess and display. The fruit hanging from our lives is the evidence of how well we are doing in our spiritual practices. When we follow the example of Jesus Christ and apply wisdom to our everyday lives, we will find that we grow spiritually.
Galatians 5:22-23 explains:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
In the preceding verses, Paul illustrates the difference between being led by the flesh versus being led by the Spirit. When we allow the Spirit to lead us, we will bear fruit in our lives.

Take a good look at the list of spiritual fruit. Just by reading the list, you may instantly feel that you could be producing more fruit in some areas. If this is true for you, keep in mind that it is a good thing. Acknowledging the fact that you have work to do is part of the journey to bettering your spiritual life and connection to God.
Jesus said that He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5). It is only through being connected to God that we are able to produce fruit. And it is God’s will that we bear much fruit (John 15:8).
When you evaluate yourself in honesty, you will better recognize areas where you may be lacking in spiritual fruit. Being human, one may find that today he has more patience than he did yesterday. This simply means that we have a responsibility to do the work to produce fruit daily.
Therein lies the first part of the process of measuring spiritual growth. The beginning of measuring spiritual growth is one’s habitual spiritual practices. Keeping consistent with following the teachings, life, and ways of Jesus Christ will ensure the regular production and abundance of spiritual fruit.
